The Israel Philharmonic and Julian Rachlin inaugurate the renovated Bronfman Auditorium in Tel Aviv tonight!

May 01, 2013 - After much anticipation, the first concert was performed at the renovated auditorium tonight, and it was a great success! Julian Rachlin played Mozart’s Violin Concerto No. 5 and the Mendelssohn Violin Concerto with the IPO, and he conducted the Mendelssohn Symphony No. 4. The new hall is magnificent and its superb acoustic places it as one of the leading venues in the world!

Which is a good festivitas opening number, and, as usual when it is Orchestre National de France, brilliantly played. The conductor has energy and was very well followed up by the musicians.

Education & Outreach

Supporting Sinfônica Heliópolis

On April 22nd 2012, as a part of his social and educational outreach, Julian Rachlin performed with and conducted Sinfônica Heliópolis, an orchestra in Sao Paulo, Brazil, that is comprised of young musicians from the favela of Heliopolis. The concert was held in Sala Sao Paulo. Julian also gave master classes and visited the favelas of Morro Dona Marta and Rocinha in Rio. On August 22nd 2012, Julian participated in a Gala Benefit concert to promote education through music for more than 1,300 children and teenagers from Heliopolis. Zubin Mehta, patron of Sinfônica Heliópolis, conducted the orchestra and Julian Rachlin played the Beethoven Violin Concerto.

Supporting UNICEF

Joining forces with celebrities for a good cause – Julian Rachlin is a Unicef Goodwill Ambassador since 2010, dedicated to the education of the next generation of classical music lovers. He has successfully produced and participated in a number of related events. During the 11th edition of his festival, Julian organized a UNICEF fundraising soccer game with the festival’s musicians, journalists and former players from FC Barcelona. A similar event took place in 2010 with John Malkovich and Sir Roger Moore.
